The NWOITA membership has been working for years to deploy and expand fiber optic facilities within their own exchanges. A large portion of the NWOITA membership base has further worked to connect these facilities together to expand the reach and scope of these optical facilities.
Today, through the cooperative efforts of the association members, fiber optic facilities have been connected together to create survivable networks that extend from Wapakoneta on I-75 west along the US33 corridor to Celina, Ohio and from Lima on I-75 west along the US30 corridor to Van Wert, Ohio. The fiber optic facilites then extend north through Defiance, Ohio and Napoleon, Ohio on their way to Toledo and then further east and south to Tiffin, Ohio and Ottawa, Ohio before returning back to Lima, Ohio. In addiition these diverse, ringed facilities connect with physical fiber facilities extending south from Findlay, Ohio through Kenton, Delaware and Worthington, Ohio in route to Columbus.
NWOITA members have equipped their fiber optic facilities with network equipment to allow for Ethernet Transport Services with available capacity exceeding 10 Gigabit per Second. In addition, fiber optic facilities have been equipped to allow for tradional SONET OCn transport services and DS1/DS3 TDM services for providing special access data circuits, as well as, switched access voice grade services.
This highly survivable, high integrity regional network is among the best in the country and it provides for connectivity to national carriers for extending network connectivity to points around the nation and/or around the world. This network makes it possible for a multitude of business to call Ohio home no matter where in the workd they need to connect in order to conduct their business.
Come join us in calling Ohio your home and feel the pride in being part of the Buckeye Nation!
